Behaviour Support Clinics

Emotional health is equally as important as physical health and the two often overlap.

Our pets cannot tell us what they are thinking or feeling and so with any behaviour change we first need to look at physical health. Some behavioural changes can be strongly linked to a physical health change which is why we always recommend a physical health check with one of our vets.

Sam, one of our Registered Veterinary Nurses, has completed a Nursing Certificate in Animal Behaviour, allowing her to provide a range of behavioural services including support with,

  • Behavioural first aid
  • Inappropriate urination
  • Multi cat household tensions
  • Muzzle training
  • Cognitive dysfunction
  • When and where to refer to a Veterinary Behavioural Specialist

We understand that talking about behaviour changes can feel very daunting. Without offering any judgement we will help to guide you through the potential reasons for inappropriate behaviours and how we can help.

A health check with one of our vets is always the first place to start with any behaviour change.. Some behavioural changes can be strongly linked to a physical health change which is why we always recommend a consultation with one of our vets to start the process.

Following the health assessment, we can then work on creating an action plan to modify the inappropriate behaviours that you are seeing.

For more complex behavioural challenges we can support you through the process of referral to an appropriately qualified professional. There is currently no protection of the title of behaviourist, which can make it very difficult for pet care givers to know who they should trust. We can support you through the referral process as well as providing care during the wait for your referral appointment.

Behavioural support clinics are arranged on an individual basis, rather than coming as a set package like many of our other clinics, because each pet is unique in their needs.

Each initial behavioural clinic session is 30 minutes long, includes a detailed pre-visit questionnaire and costs £75

Your pets on-going needs will be discussed and planned with you after the clinic and any further fees will be fully explained at that stage.

Pet Health Club members qualify for a 10% discount on these clinics.
